受容性の高いスクリーニング検査として、情報量の多い術前検査として

CTコロノグラフィは被ばくや早期癌検出の限界などの問題点があるが、前処置や検査時の腹満感・精神的苦痛が軽いなど受容性が高いことから大腸スクリーニングに適している。また、腫瘍と血管との関係が認識しやすいなど術前検査としても意味をもつ。これらの点に関し当院なりに気をつけている検査のポイントについて記したい。
The use of CT colonography (CTC) involves certain disadvantages, such as high radiation exposure and a limited ability for the early detection of colon cancer. However, CTC is considered to be suitable for use as a screening tool owing to its high receptivity by patients. The receptivity is a result of the minimal discomfort from colon preparation, low abdominal distention with the use of carbon dioxide, and negligible mental stress experienced by the patients. In addition, CTC has been shown to be useful as a preoperative examination. Surgeons can gain valuable information regarding the relationship between the colon cancer and the tumor vessels. We describe our procedure for performing CTC with an emphasis on these points.
