PEMの使用経験

当院は、日本で2番目にPEMを導入し、臨床応用を実施した。PET検診受診者に対する無料のPEMを追加することで、早期の乳がんおよび前癌病変と思われる良性増殖性病変の検出が可能であった。T1a、bの1cm以下の病変を見つけるにはPEMが重要であると思われる。
また、術式の決定や化学療法の効果判定にも、PEMは有効であり、術前検査として造影MRIにあわせてPEMを実施することが重要と思われた。
Our clinic is the second in Japan to introduce PEM in clinical setting. In adding PEM to PET examination, we were able to detect benign proliferative lesion assumed to be an early breast cancer or precancerous lesion. Therefore, PEM can be an important modality in finding T1a and b breast cancers, which are smaller than 1cm. PEM is also effective in treatment decision and response evaluation, and should be performed in addition to contrast MRI as preoperative examination.
